In response to COVID-19, the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) recently announced a temporary 8.4% budget increase for the Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS) and Consumer Support Grant (CSG) programs. This increase applies to dates of service from December 1, 2020 through February 7, 2021.
What Participants Need to Do
Participants must choose how funds are allocated as soon as possible. Click below to download the funds allocation form. Please complete the form and return it to our office by email or fax.
Due to the structure of the increase, the additional funds will be a one-time bonus payment. Participant budgets will not be amended for this temporary increase. Consumer Direct Care Network Minnesota will not immediately know total available funds. The 8.4% budget increase will be paid after billing and payment for services rendered through February 7, 2021.
- 80% of funds are required to be used for wages/staffing costs. Funds for wages will be paid to employees as a lump sum. Taxes will apply.
- Any remaining funds may be used for personal protective equipment/supplies. Receipts for these items must be submitted to Consumer Direct Care Network Minnesota by April 1, 2021.
Employees should keep an eye out for more information from SEIU about the 8.4% budget increase. SEIU will be hosting information sessions to discuss the increase’s impact on employees. Stay tuned for more details.
